Trisha Klus - Lettering and Book Artist
Trisha Klus is a lettering and book artist specializing in calligraphy and hand bound artist’s books with explorations in collage, marbling, mail art and letterpress printing. She has currently been creating with a focus on interactive books.Since beginning her creative studies in 1995, Trisha’s books and artwork have been published in Somerset Studio, Handcraft Illustrated, Bound & Lettered, the Alcuin Society’s “Amphora” and The Canadian Philatelist. She has participated in group shows with the Fairbank Calligraphy Society, Printmakers Only Group, Canadian Book Binders and Book Artists Guild, The Warmland Calligraphers, The Escape Artists and The Sooke Fine Arts Show. In 2011 she had her first solo show. Her work is included in the Special Collections Library at University of Victoria, the National Library for Legal Deposit as well as in private collections across Canada and the USA. Formerly an officer and one of the first women aircrew in the Canadian Military, Trisha is now happily settled in Cobble Hill, B.C. |

Karen Bottcher- Jewellery Designer, worker with rushes, cane and reeds
As well as designing jewellery, Karen gives workshops including jewellery pendants involving cold work on glass and wire-wrapped rings. She also does chair seat replacement caning, woven rush chair seats, woven reed seats, weaving and braiding lavender and wheat. Through her career she has moved through different media and taught a variety of classes for school boards and community colleges. |
Terry Harrison - Glass Art and Wearable Art
www.islandarts.ca/terryharrison If it is a flower, Terry will paint it onto glass, onto clothing, onto table linens and tiles. Wild flowers, cultivated garden flowers and even weeds in bloom are subjects for her work. Her lifelong love of flowers is evident in the garden she and her husband tend after a 20-year career as a florist.All the glass plates, glasses, vases, jugs and dinner ware are fired so that they can go into the dishwasher and all the clothing and linens are machine wash-and-dry. Her background prior to glass and fabric painting includes, painting in water colours, a career in journalism, sheep farming, dog breeding, and a musical life that continues today with voice, flute and harp. |
